2016 has been described as the “year of delivery” of the European Commission’s Energy Union strategy, which defines the EU’s approach to climate and energy policy for the coming years. Sofia Kalogeraki, Energy Policy Consultant at Dods EU Monitoring, has put together a timeline and overview of the main initiatives, legislative and non-legislative, that will be put forward by the European Commission this year.

She has also included a state of play on the initiatives that have already been presented under the strategy, outlining progress so far and the next steps.
